Specify a similarity threshold to remove the colors similar to the background color. A threshold value that determines how close a pixel’s color must be to the specified color to be removed. Higher values increase the range of similar colors removed matching with the background color.
Please Note: If you see outline arround the objects in transparent gif created by this tool, try increasing the threshold value.

GIF white background | Transparent using "Variation" | Transparent using "Flood Fill" |
Flood Fill: This method replaces the background color with transparent but does not reach inside the boundaries of the objects.
Variation: This method matches all pixels in all areas with the background color and replaces them with transparent.
Threshold/Percent: Indicates how closely a pixel's color must match the target color in order to be included in the fill/transparent.
They are blended edges against a background color. Try with the threshold value 25%, 30% or 35%.
Anti-aliasing smooths the edges of an image by blending colors between the object and the background.
When the original image is created or edited against a colored background (e.g., white), the edge pixels are blended with that color to create a smooth transition.
Effect on Transparency: When you make the background transparent, the semi-transparent edge pixels still retain some of the original background color (e.g., white), creating a visible "halo" effect.
It is determined by the animation effects applied to the coloured region. The photo or background in your gif may be animated (sliding, zooming). It ought not to be animated.
